This branch is known as Asperger's Syndrome. It didn't appeal to me but, this is why I am in book club so that I would be introduced to other genres. Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's by John Elder Robison, is a memoir of a man who wasn't aware what this was or that he had it until he was in his 50s. April being Autism Awareness Month, I thought it was appropriate. Item #86 – “Look Me in the Eye—My life with Aspergers” book, “Born on a Blue day—Inside the Mind of an Autistic Savant” book, “NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting” book. I've just started reading John Elder Robison's childhood memoir, Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's (Robison coincidentally happens to be the brother of Augusten Burroughs – one of my favorite memoirists). On the milder end are people who are highly intelligent, some of whom possess unique talents and abilities; they are often diagnosed with the ASD subtypes of Asperger Syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise .
